Founded in 2017, Moonshot Academy has gained significant recognition in education. It offers a competency-based bilingual curriculum aligned with Chinese standards, featuring Disciplinary Learning, Interdisciplinary Projects, and self-exploratory Honors Courses. This deep-learning model fosters rigorous scholarship and holistic development, aiming to cultivate self-directed lifelong learners and proactive social innovators.
ATDESIGNOFFICE designed an experimental educational space reflecting Moonshot's philosophy. The campus core is a custom "peanut-shaped" zone for project-based learning, the heart of their interdisciplinary program, accommodating up to 6 projects. Traditional classrooms line the perimeter, connected by a sunlit central corridor.
A 7-meter-high art studio near the main entrance doubles as a public gallery. In partnership with the Yimei Foundation, it hosts exhibitions for young artists.
The interior redefines openness. Enclosed classrooms have given way to open, integrated cluster layouts. This community-focused design removes psychological barriers and fosters deep learning. Ample public "blank spaces" are intentionally designed to spark spontaneous communication and creativity.
